To make sure I have enough wines for everyone, I would appreciate RSVP by email. Looking forward to see many of you. </div><div> </div><div>For this new year I have 3 special pens to share with you, and please do let me know if any of these interest you. When replying, please do not use "reply to all" function as this is going to a group of pen collectors. </div><div> </div><div>I am especially happy to introduce the new AP Limited Edition Maki-e Fountain Pen "Buddha". This is first of the two pens set. I am the first do receive this pen. It is #9 of 18. #9 is a good number as it represent "longevity". The cap depict the Buddha after attained enlightment, the barrel depict Buddha as he conquered evil (before enlightment). The pen is excuted by Master Maki-e Artist, Mr. Masanori Omote, whom is not only the teacher of many well known maki-e artists, but his works can be found in permanent display in Ishikawa Prefecture Art Museum. Retail for the pen is $20,000, and to celebrate the New Year, this pen is $12000 delivered. Only one pen at this price. Purchaser of this pen also entitles you for the accompany 'sister' pen at the same price when it comes out. Techniques used is the most difficult "Shishiai-Togidashi Taka Maki-e". This is the most difficult form and most complicated Maki-e techniques. The whole pen is covered with maki-e with no corners cut. Here are the pictures: </div><div><a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/winedoc/AP%20Pens/BD7.jpg" target="_blank">http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/winedoc/AP%20Pens/BD7.jpg</a></div><div><a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/winedoc/AP%20Pens/BD8.jpg" target="_blank">http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/winedoc/AP%20Pens/BD8.jpg</a></div><div><a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/winedoc/AP%20Pens/BD10.jpg" target="_blank">http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/winedoc/AP%20Pens/BD10.jpg</a>
</div><div> </div><div>Next is the prototype Maki-e by Conway Stewart. In search for their next Maki-e, two prototypes were made. The one you see here with pictures attached bellow has been sold. The one up for sale is exactly the same pattern, BUT with Bokashi-maki, which means with more fine gold powders used for the background. The pen is on the way to me from UK next week, but the picture will give you an idea. The maki-e is hand done by Mr. Koichiro Okazaki. The theme is the peacock feather. Quite exquisite if you are not into fancy Maki-e. Price for this beauty is $3800 delivered. It will come with a letter stating this is a prototype from CS. </div><div><a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/winedoc/Conway%20Stewart/feather1.jpg">http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/winedoc/Conway%20Stewart/feather1.jpg</a></div><div><a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/winedoc/Conway%20Stewart/feather2.jpg">http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/winedoc/Conway%20Stewart/feather2.jpg</a></div><div> </div><div>Last, but not least is the Westminster Vermeil.
