<div>Dear All,</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Hope you all had nice Holiday break, and Happy New Year to all.&nbsp; This means LA Pen Show is fast approaching.&nbsp; As before, I will be hosting informal wine tasting party on Sat. Feb. 24th, 7pm and all of you are invited if you are coming to the show.&nbsp; To make sure I have enough wines for everyone, I would appreciate RSVP by email.&nbsp; Looking forward to see many of you. </div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>For this new year I have 3 special pens to share with you, and please do let me know if any of these interest you.&nbsp; When replying, please do not use "reply to all" function as this is going to a group of pen collectors. </div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>I am especially happy to introduce the new AP Limited Edition Maki-e Fountain Pen "Buddha".&nbsp; This is first of the two pens set.&nbsp; I am the first do receive this pen.&nbsp; It is #9 of 18.&nbsp; #9 is a good number as it represent "longevity".&nbsp; The cap depict the Buddha after attained enlightment, the barrel depict Buddha as he conquered evil (before enlightment).&nbsp; The pen is excuted by Master Maki-e Artist, Mr. Masanori Omote, whom is not only the teacher of many well known maki-e artists, but his works can be found in permanent display in Ishikawa Prefecture Art Museum.&nbsp; Retail for the pen is $20,000, and to celebrate the New Year, this pen is $12000 delivered.&nbsp; Only one pen at this price.&nbsp; Purchaser of this pen also entitles you for the accompany 'sister' pen at the same price when it comes out.&nbsp; Techniques used is the most difficult "Shishiai-Togidashi Taka Maki-e".&nbsp; This is the most difficult form and most complicated Maki-e techniques.&nbsp; The whole pen is covered with maki-e with no corners cut.&nbsp; Here are the pictures: </div><div><a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/winedoc/AP%20Pens/BD7.jpg" target="_blank">http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/winedoc/AP%20Pens/BD7.jpg</a></div><div><a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/winedoc/AP%20Pens/BD8.jpg" target="_blank">http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/winedoc/AP%20Pens/BD8.jpg</a></div><div><a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/winedoc/AP%20Pens/BD10.jpg" target="_blank">http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/winedoc/AP%20Pens/BD10.jpg</a>

<p>第一只Buddha是这个牌子一贯的风格,没什么出彩的地方。</p><p>两只CS大到是有点意思。喜欢那个莳绘,简单的孔雀毛图案画的很有味道。</p><p>下面那只雕刻的花纹是很漂亮,但是在图片可是看起来象是机器刻的,太浅,没力道。有点浪费。</p>
